Our Mourning Has Ended

On Monday, President's Day, my husband and I went kayaking - visiting the same places where he used to go with his friend. On Wednesday he went alone and came back realizing that he was done mourning the passing of his bestest friend. I now have a husband who is entirely a different man than he was before his friend's passing. I realize that I love this man - so our journey begins.

Things in the Garage

Once again our garage is full of someone else's belongings. And these are the belongings of a dear brother-in-Christ. Things that have been used and treasured by a trusted friend.

When we were forced out of going through the items from Nonie at first it did not seem fair but then I had gone through almost everything anyway because they had been in our possession for so very long. And it would have been very overwhelming.

With this Greg has had the time to mourn a dear brother. The Lord blessed him with a brother who was closer than family. For Greg never had a brother and the Lord gave him a David.

Oh Lord, thank you for these past few years of treasured moments for my Greg for I am the only one that was able to see the impact that this dear brother in Christ had in my husband's life and subsequently in the my life but also in my husband's walking with You. May this mourning time draw him closer to Jesus and his heavenly Father.

Praise and Glory to the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Amen.

A New House

I'm in a new house - and still apprehensive about just how to receive this blessing. A simple thank you seems to not be enough and a thousand humble acknowledgements seems just to bazaar so I'm in a new house. Each day will be an adventure to see how richly this house will be filled with God's blessings that He has in store.

Mainland Experiences

Hello to Self,

Getting to the mainland was quite a feat to be done. But God is faithful and it did happen. My brother loaned us the money. I did have two weeks paid leave from work. Found friends who would/could take care of the pets (2 cats and bird) and off we went. Got to Indiana and what a marvelous vacation:

Highlights:

1) Saw a real parade, none of these that I had gone to before, in the small town, down the mainstreet, barking dogs and little go carts. This was the real mccoy. TV celebrities, sports celebrities, movie stars. WOW - and then the Indy 500 race cars and drivers.

2) An Art Gallery -

3) A wonderful eatery - I can't remember how to spell it - but the best chicken fillet sandwiches in the world.

4) Relay for Life Rally - spending quality time with son and family.

5) fishing with son and granddaughter

6) Shopping with daughter-in-law and granddaughter

7) purchased Crocs (actually they are very comfortable)

8) ears pierced with granddaughter

9) reading bed time stories to granddaughter

10) attending Dance Recital - granddaughter performed the best, it is a known fact by several other people besides just mom and dad and Pa and me.

11) Shoe shoppping

12) Watching my son being the bestest dad in the world

13) Watching my husband being the bestest Pa in the world - He watched the movie "Ice Age" with his granddaughter. How great is that.

This was just the Indiana part of the trip and sadly to say Pa was not able to be there most of the time because of his family having health issues.

This is the Montana trip highlights:

1) hugging Mom and Dad

2) getting up every morning early and just sitting with daddy. Not having to say anything just being.

3) Fishing -

4) visiting aunts and uncles (all my favorites I might add)

5) meeting cousins for the very first time

6) hugging Mom and Dad

7) Seeing old friends

8) Enjoying each other because we don't know when we will be able to be together again.

How short time actually is - It is so wonderful that I serve a mighty GOD who is sovereign and HIS time is unlimited, in fact it is eternal. And whether I am actually in the physical presence God has given me a wonderful mind and I have memories. Thank you Lord that you are the keeper of my memories. How Great thou art and How precious is our TIME when I give it back to you.

37 years of marriage

Well here we are enjoying our anniversary dinner. 37 years of marriage. Wow, when I tell people they have the following reactions:
1) can't believe it
2) never knew anyone who stayed together that long
3) how old are you really
4) how did you do it.

Okay, here are my thoughts on it:
1) can't believe it
2) never knew it would last this long
3) sometimes I look at this guy and see him as 19 and other times I just want to hug him for looking so great at his age and of course loving me at my age
4) Lots and lots and lots of Prayer

Here we are:
